Galway - Casey, James December 3, 1755 *********************************************** Ireland Genealogy Projects Archives Galway Index Copyright ************************************************ File contributed by: Rosalind Dunning ros.dunning@outlook.com April 12, 2019, 12:45 pm CASEY, JAMES DECEMBER 3, 1755 Source: National Archives Kew England Written: December 3, 1755 Recorded: April 12, 2019 In the Name of God Amen I James Casey of Tower Hill London Merchant being sick and weak in Body but of sound Mind Memory and Understanding Do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in Manner following that is to say after Payment of my Debts and funeral Charges I give and bequeath to my Brother in Law Patrick Lynch of Galway in the Kingdom of Ireland one Hundred Guineas Also I give and bequeath to my Sister Penelope Gorman Widow of Patrick Gorman late of the same Place forty Pounds Also I give to Dorothy Hudson the Servant who now attends me in my Illness forty Guineas and all my Household furniture and wearing apparel of what Nature Kind or Degree soever the same may be for her Care and Diligence Also I give and bequeath to each of my Executors hereinafter named fifty pounds a piece and all the Rest Residue and Remainder of my Estate and Effects whatsoever and of what Nature Kind or Degree soever the same may be and consist of I give devise and bequeath to my Brother William Casey of Madeira Merchant unto and to the use of him the said William Casey his Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns for ever Upon trust nevertheless that he the said William Casey his Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns pay yearly and every year by half Yearly Payments to commence from the Day of my Death unto my Mother Jane Casey of Galway aforesaid Widow one Annuity or Sum of twenty one Pounds a Year during the Term of her Life in Consideration thereof And I hereby nominate and appoint Alexander French of Rotherhith in the County of Surry Merchant John Clarke of London Merchant and James Cusack of London Packer Executors of this my last Will and Testament and hereby revoke all former Wills and Testaments by me made declaring this to be my last And Whereas there is now a long Account of many Years standing subsisting between me and William Halloran of London unsettled I desire it as a very earnest favour of my Executors and the last Regard they can Pay to my Memory that they will immediately upon and after my Decease adjust and settle the same with him and in case the said William Halloran shall refuse so to do that they will then forthwith have Recourse to Law to compell him to the performance of it In Witness whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament and a Duplicate thereof of the same Date set my Hand and Seal this third Day of December in the Year of our Lord one Thousand seven Hundred and fifty five J Casey (Attestation Clause) G S Lawford of Thread Needle Street London _ Francis Clark Proved at London 14 February 1756 PCC Prob11/820
