Vicars.] 'On vault of limestone, standing some 6 feet above ground with slab forming a roof, 20 feet long by 12 feet wife. 'Above entrance in oval': W.P. 1795 _______________ This is the vault of the family of Ponsonby of Crottta, now extinct. _____ 'On vault':- Erected by Stephen Fuller and his | son William for them and | posterity : A : D. 1842. _____ Erected | by Michael Cronin | for him and posterity | A.D. 1844 _____ Erectd by George | Benson, & Sons Fran.* Willm, & John. Anno | Domini 1813 for them | & Posterity. _____ 'The oldest inscription in the churchyard is on a small upright slab. in raised letters, all capitals':- HERE LYETH YE BODY | OF PHILLIP CARRELL | ALs * DELAHUNTY Mm | WHO DEPARTED THIS | LIFE IN YE 22ND YEARE OF | HIS AGE YE 11TH OF JANUARY | 1735. _____ 'There is a large vault of the Shewell family, but no inscription on it. Also several other vaults, all nameless. ________ * Fra has small superscript letter. Hard to decipher. Looks like an n. *Small letters indicate superscript letters. Also hard to read.
