She was a native of Ballyduff, Tralee, County Kerry, Ireland. She came to Chicago as a young girl. Here she met Thomas Gaynor, also of County Kerry. They were married and lived in Southtown all their married lives. He died three years ago. Two nephews are policemen, Thomas McElligott of the city police force, and George McElligott of the Park District. Also surviving are two sister, Mrs Nora Regan O'Connor of Chicago, and Mrs Ellie Lawlor of Ireland; and two nieces Mrs Eileen Quinlivan of Chicago, and Mrs Noreen Rutshaw of Detroit.
