WILLS: LOMBARD, CATHERINE APRIL 15, 1793

In the Name of God Amen. I Catherine Lombard of
Killarney in the County of Kerry Widow being of sound
mind memory and understanding but being sensible of
the uncertainty of this life Do hereby make this my last
Will and Testament in manner following that is to say
First I direct that my body may be buried without any
Pomp in a perfectly Private manner and by day and that
my Debts and Funeral Expenses be paid by my Executors
And Whereas my son George Lombard stands Indebted
to me in the sum of Five Hundred pounds payable with
Interest and secured by his Bond with Warrant of
Attorney for Confessing Judgement thereon bearing date
the fifteenth day of April one thousand seven hundred
and ninety three in the penal sum of one thousand
pounds I give and Devise the said sum to my Grandson
James Lombard the Eldest Son of my said son George. I
give and Bequeath unto Daniel Cronin of Park in the
County of Kerry Esquire a sum of one thousand three
Hundred pounds sterling to be paid by my Executors
hereinafter named within one month after my Decease
upon the Trusts herein mentioned respecting the same
that is to say that the sum of nine hundred pounds part
thereof shall be put out at Interest on good security and
the Interest thereof to be paid to my daughter
Annastatia O'Reilly during her natural life for her own
sole and separate use and her Receipt alone to be valid
for the same and from and after the Decease of the said
Annastatia that the said sum of nine hundred pounds
sterling shall be paid to such person or persons and to
and for such uses Intents and Purposes as the said
Annastatia shall by any Deed or Will limit and Appoint
and in Case of no such Appointment then that the said
sum of nine hundred pounds sterling shall be divided
share and share alike among the Children of the said
Annastatia that shall be living at the time of her Decease
and as to the sum of four hundred the Remaining part of
the said sum of one thousand three hundred pounds I
desire that the sum be first put out at Interest on good
security and the Interest thereof to be paid to my said
Daughter Annastatia on her sole and separate receipt to
and for the support and Maintenance of my Grand
Daughter Catherine Atkinson until her arrival at the age
of Twenty one years or being married which ever shall
first happen, and from and after her arrival at the age of
Twenty one years or being married as aforesaid then
that said sum of four hundred pounds shall be paid to or
for the use of the said Catherine Atkinson but in case the
said Catherine Atkinson shall not arrive at the age of
Twenty one years or be married as aforesaid then that
the Interest of the said sum of four hundred pounds shall
be paid to such person or persons and to and for such
uses Intents and Purposes as the said Annastatia shall by
any Deed or Will limit and appoint and in case of no such
appointment then that the said sum of four hundred
pounds shall be divided share and share alike among the
Children of the said Annastatia at the time of her
Decease that shall be living and in case there shall be no
Children of the said Annastatia living at the time of her
Decease and that there shall be no appointment by her
as aforesaid of the said several sums of nine hundred
pounds and four hundred pounds as the Case may be
then my will is that said sum or sums of Money as the
case may be shall as to one Moiety thereof be Divided
share and share alike among the Issue of my son George
and as to the Remaining moiety of the said several sum
or sums as the case may be in Trust that the Interest
thereof be paid to my Daughter Christian Morrogh during
her natural life and from and after her Decease that the
Principal shall be Divided amongst her Issue share and
share alike And Whereas under and by virtue of the last
Will and Testament of my Deceased Husband I have a
power of disposing of the sum of one thousand pounds
part of his personal property to any one or more of my
Children in such manner as I should think proper in
pursuance of such power I do hereby bequeath the sum
of five hundred pounds to be divided among the
Children of my son George share and share alike, Except
James and Catherine, and to Catherine I bequeath the
sum of four hundred pounds James being already
provided for as aforesaid I also give and bequeath the
sum of four hundred pounds other part of said one
thousand pounds to my youngest son William now called
James I also give and bequeath the sum of four hundred
pounds, secured by the Bond of Lord Kenmare other part
of the said sum of one thousand pounds to my daughter
Christian Morrogh to dispose of as she shall think proper
at any time she pleases. And Whereas I am now Intitled
to a sum of fifteen hundred pounds or thereabouts
being my Proportion of a certain sum due in France to
the personal representatives of Thomas Roche my late
Brother I give and bequeath the same to my seven
Children, George, James, Annastatia Christian Margaret
@ Ann Theresa and Daniel Cronin of Park Esqr who was
married to my Daughter Mary Ann to be divided
between them share and share alike I give to the Right
Revd Doctor Francis Moylan Roman Catholick Bishop of
Cork the sum of one hundred pounds in Trust to be
disposed for relief of the Indigent in the City of Cork
leaving him the Entire Control as to the Appropriation of
said sum and of the objects on which it shall be
bestowed and I Do hereby discharge my said son George
from the payment of all Interest due on his aforesaid
Bond for five hundred pounds to the time of my Decease
and as to all the Rest and Residue of my Goods and
Chattles Estates and Effects whatsoever I give devise and
bequeath the same and Every part thereof to the
Children of my said son George and the Children of my
Daughter Christian share and share alike and of this my
Will I do hereby nominate Constitute and appoint my
sons George Lombard and William now called James
Lombard Daniel Cronin of Park in County of Kerry Esqr
and Edmond Morrogh of Kilworth in the County of Cork
Executors of this my last Will and Testament revoking all
others by me heretofore made In Witness whereof I
have put my hand and seal the 10th day of October 1808

Signed sealed published and Declared by the Testatrix as
and for her last Will and Testament in presence of us
who at her request and in her presence and in presence
of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as
Witnesses Thoms Collins Dumas.

and as a Codicil to my last Will and Testament and as a
part of my said Will I leave and bequeath unto my said
son William now called James all my household furniture
Plate and Linen of Every kind and as to the sum of Fifteen
hundred pounds due to me in France I give and
Bequeath the Interest thereof to my said son James
during his natural life and from and after his Decease the
Principal sum to be divided as in my said Will is
particularly mentioned In witness whereof I have
hereunto put my hand the 22nd day of October 1808 –

Delivered by the Testatrix as and for a Codicil to her last
Will and Testament in the presence of us who at her
request and in her presence have subscribed my name as
Witnesses Thoms Collins Dumas.

Whereas by my aforesaid Will I gave to the Children of
my said son George a sum of two hundred pounds part
of a sum of one Thousand pounds which I had a right to
dispose of to any one of my child or children under my
Husbands Will now I do hereby revoke the said
disposition in favour of the Children of my said son
George and I do hereby dispose and Bequeath the said
sum of two hundred pounds in favour of and to my son
George And whereas I have caused a Judgement to be
Entered on the Bond of Lord Kenmare for the principal
sum of four hundred pounds bequeathed to my
Daughter Christian Morrogh and have assigned the same
to my said son James for the use of my said Daughter
Christian Morrogh after my Decease and my said son
James having Executed a Declaration of Trust thereof
now I do hereby in consequence thereof revoke the said
bequest in my said Will contained relative thereto and I
also Declare this to be a second Codicil to this my Will
and Testament this 24th day of January 1811 Catherine

Testament in my presence who have subscribed that
same as a Witness at her request and in her presence

Whereas by my aforesaid Will I devised to my Grandson
James Lombard the Eldest son of my said son George the
sum of five hundred pounds secured to me by the Bond
and Warrant of my said son George bearing date the
fifteenth day of April one thousand seven hundred and
ninety three now I do hereby revoke the said bequest
and I bequeath the said sum of five hundred pounds to
me said son George and do desire that the said Bond and
Warrant may be given up to him to be Cancelled and
that the Judgement Entered thereon may be Satisfied by
my Executors and I do declare this to be a Codicil to my
said last Will and Testament this 19th day of January
1813, Catherine Lombard (seal) Signed sealed published
by the Testatrix as and for a Codicil to her last Will and
Testament in my presence who have subscribed the
same as a Witness at her request and in her presence
Richd Barry.

The last Will and Testament and three Codicils of
Catherine Lombard late of Killarney in the County of
Kerry Widow Deceased (having and soforth) were proved
in the common form of law and probate granted by The
Most Reverend Father William and soforth To George
Lombard James Lombard and Edmond Morrogh three of
the Executors named in said Will They being first sworn
by Commission saving the sight of Daniel Cronin the
other Executor also saving and so forth Dated the 6th
day of November in the year of our Lord 1813."
