In the Name of God Amen I Darby Mahony of Dunloe
Castle in the County of Kerry Esquire being weak in body
but of sound and perfect mind and memory blessed be
Almighty God for the same do make and publish this my
last Will and Testament in manner and form following
first I give my blessing to my dear and beloved Mother I
give devise and bequeath to my dear and affectionate
Brother Daniel Mahony and his heirs for ever All my right
title and interest in and to the lands of Gueeves in the
County of Kerry in as full ample and beneficial a manner
as willed to me by my dear and lamented father subject
however to the legacies hereinafter mentioned Whereas
I am entitled as a younger child to a third of a sum of two
thousand pounds late Irish Currency provided by my
father's Marriage Settlement for younger children the
interest of which said third of two thousand pounds late
Irish Currency I will and bequeath to my affectionate
Sister Mary Mahony to be paid and payable to her during
her natural life and upon her death my will is that the
said principal shall revert to and become the property of
my said Brother and his heirs for ever I will and bequeath
unto my good and worthy friends Thomas Rochfort of
the City of Cork and Doctor Walter Murphy of Killarney
All my right title and interest in and to any property
which I may be entitled unto under or by virtue of the
Wills of my affectionate and lamented father and my
Uncle Denis Mahony and which my said Uncle died
possessed of or entitled to called India money or other
property which will become payable upon the death of
my Aunt or otherwise as trustees for this purpose alone
In trust in the first place to pay my proportion of the
private debts my affectionate and lamented father being
one half that is to say To Mr Rickards of England twenty
five pounds To Ellen O'Donoghue ten pounds To Mr Byrn
of London two pounds ten shillings and to Mr Gallwey of
Killarney fifteen pounds And as to the Residue and
Remainder remaining on their hands after discharging
said debts to lay out the same in taking up the
Judgments of my affectionate father or of my said
Brother Daniel and procuring assignments thereof to the
full amount of the sum so remaining on their hands
affecting the property of my said Brother Dan Mahony In
trust however to pay my said Sister Mary Mahony the
interest thereof at the rate of five per cent per annum
yearly and every year during her natural life and upon
her decease one half of the amount of the principal sum
to be assigned over unto John Shea Lawlor Esqr Barrister
at Law to be by him disposed of to any one or more of
his daughters in such shares and proportions as he may
by deed or his last Will and Testament appoint or direct
the other half of said principal sum to go to and merge
with my said Brother Daniel Mahony and his heirs for
ever I give and bequeath to my worthy good friend
Doctor Walter Murphy as a small token of my respect
and regard and as an acknowledgment of his kind and
unremitting attention to me at all times twenty guineas
which I request my affectionate Brother will pay as soon
as possible I give devise and bequeath unto Mary
Sullivan my faithful and good attendant for many years
the sum of twelve guineas yearly and every year during
her natural life the same to become payable to her only
after she quits my Brother's Establishment and then only
at the rate of one guinea per month as I am aware that
she will be taken good acre of whilst she remains with my
Brother in his house and the bequest I give her is to
support and maintain her in the event of her quitting my
Brother's house and I request of him in such case to pay
the annuity aforesaid regularly And as to all the Rest
Residue and Remainder of my Personal Estate Goods and
Chattels of what kind or nature soever I give and
bequeath the same to my said dear and affectionate
Brother Daniel Mahony whom I hereby appoint sole
Executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby
revoking all former Wills be me made In witness whereof
I have hereunto set my hand and seal the fourth day of
March 1834 Darby Mahony
