Wills: More, Charles McCarthy May 14, 1766 *********************************************** Ireland Genealogy Projects Archives Kerry Index Copyright ************************************************ File contributed by: Rosalind Dunning ros.dunning@outlook.com December 31, 2017, 11:53 am WILLS: MORE, CHARLES MCCARTHY MAY 14, 1766 Source: National Archives Kew England Written: May 14, 1766 Recorded: December 31, 2017 This is the last Will of me Charles McCarthy More of Pallas in the County of Kerry I Order all my Just Debts as soon after my Decease as the same can be Accomplished And I charge all my real and Personal Estates with the Payment thereof and of the Legacys hereinafter mentioned I Give to my Honoured and beloved Grandfather (whose Affection tenderness and friendship I have Experienced from my Infancy) Edward Herbert Esquire the Sum of One thousand pounds I Give to my Uncles Thomas Herbert and Edward Herbert Esquires and the Reverend Nicholas Herbert the Sum of five hundred pounds and to my Aunt Miss Catherine Herbert the Sum of three hundred pounds I Give to such of the Children of my Aunt Conway Deceased as Shall be living at my Decease the Sum of five hundred pounds to be equally Divided between them I Give to the younger Children of my Aunt Mrs O'Donoghue who Shall be living at my Decease the Sum of five hundred pounds to be equally Divided between them I Give to my friend George Bryan Esquire the Sum of Two hundred pounds I Give to Mr Samuel McCarthy who lives near Mulross the Sum of One hundred pounds and to such other of his Brothers and Sisters who shall be living at my decease the Sum of One hundred pounds a peice I Give to John Palmer of Lincoln's Inn Esquire the Sum of Two hundred pounds All which Legacies are to be paid according to the Value of Money in Ireland and Subject to my Debts and the Legacys aforesaid I Devise all my real Estates to my said Grandfather Edward Herbert for and during the Term of his Natural life with power to make Leases of the whole or any part thereof for the Terms of Twenty one Years or any Term of Years not exceeding Twenty one years at the best Improved Rents that can be Got for the same without taking any fine and from and after the Decease of my said Grandfather I Devise all my said real Estates unto my said Uncles Thomas Herbert and Edward Herbert and to their Heirs to be equally divided between them as Tenants in Common and not as Joint Tenants And I Appoint my said Grandfather Edward Herbert and my said Uncles Thomas Herbert and Edward Herbert Executors of this my Will and residuary Legatees In Witness whereof I Have hereunto and to the three other parts of my Will set my hand and Seal this fourteenth Day of May in the Year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and Sixty six Chas McCarthy More (Attestation Clause) Witnesses Jo: Fell of the Six Clerks Office _ James Medlicott Flack Clerk to Mr J Palmer of Lincolns Inn _ Thos Heyden Clerk to the said Mr Palmer Proved at London 7 April 1770 by Oaths of Edward Herbert the Grandfather and Thomas Herbert the Uncle the Surviving Executors PCC Prob11/957
