The most curious and out-of-place object, in the memorial line here, is a large granite quern. It is standing on edge, half buried, with the central hole showing. The only inscription on the part above ground are the figures "1804."It was most probably erected to a miller. The oldest inscription here is dated 1710' :--- Here Lies ye Body of | Pierce Martin Decd | Aprl ye 7th 1710 Agd 29 yrs | Allso his Son Michl | Martin Decsd Marh ye 30th | 1720 Agd 12 yrs & his | Wife Anstas Martin | Als Murphy | 17 [blank] Pray for | them ----------- Emblems of the Passion.] God be merciful to ye Soul of ye Revrd Fathr Thadee Gready decsd Decbr ye 1st 1756 Agd 70 yrs Also to ye Souls of his Parents & Relativs ------------ I H S D.
