Will: Garraway, Roger February 26, 1803 *********************************************** Ireland Genealogy Projects Archives Kilkenny Index Copyright ************************************************ File contributed by: Rosalind Dunning ros.dunning@outlook.com January 13, 2018, 12:17 pm Will: Garraway, Roger February 26, 1803 Source: National Archives Kew England Written: February 26, 1803 Recorded: January 13, 2018 In the Name of God Amen I Roger Garraway of Castle Comer in the Ct of Kilkenny being weak and infirm in Body but thro' the Blessing of God of Perfect mind Memory and Understanding do make & Ordain this my last Will and Testament that is to say first I give and commend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God trusting for its Salvation in the Merits and Satisfaction of Lord Jesus And my Body to be committed to the Earth in decent Christian Burial and whereas being Possessed of a Lease of part of the Town Land of Al......... in the Manor of Castlecomer & also of eight Acres or thereabouts of the Lands of Donagile in the said Manor also of a field called the Paddock with a House and Garden situate in the Town of Castle Comer all which Premises are for Leases of three Lives or 31 years I do nominate & constitute and appoint my Son Henry & the Revd Henry Irwin & my dearly beloved Wife to be my Executors I do will and bequeath to my dearly beloved Wife five daughters Son Thomas the Issues & Profits of sd Lands and Premes to be divided amongst them Share and Share alike provided also that they shall all live together and that each Child on his or her Marriage with Consent & Approbation of my said Wife shall be entitled to his or her Share I do also will that the Share which on the Conditions of living with his Mother and marrying with her Consent my Son Thomas wd be entitled to shall on his obtaining any Employment which shall be considered by my Executrix as an Equivalent to his Portion gavel among my said Wife five daughters and their Heirs I do further will that in case of the Death of my Wife or any of my unmarried Children entitled to a Proportion of my Property that said Proportion shall gavel among the Survivors Be it observed that I make the above Disposition of Property tho' I am not at present possessed of the Leases of said Lands they having been burned in the late Rebellion but the Countess of Ormond having with her accustomed Goodness Promised to give me new Leases I do therefore make this my Will in virtue of her Promise as if I had them actually in Possession I do also declare that I gave my Consent that my Son Henry should get a Lease from the Countess of Ormond of that Part of the Lands of Alm....... Lately surveyed for that purpose by Michael Hely & of which there is now a Map which I have seen and approve I do also will that of my Cattle & Stock that one Milch Cow be given to my daughter Bess As to my Son Charles I have nothing to leave him but my Blessing assuring him of my fondest Affection and Remembrance & requesting him with my latest Breath that should God bless him with the Means that he will Assist his family Given under my Hand this 26th Feby 1803 Roger Garraway Witness present Patt.
