Laois - Bargan Or Brenan, James March 16, 1807 *********************************************** Ireland Genealogy Projects Archives Laois (Queens) Index Copyright ************************************************ File contributed by: Rosalind Dunning ros.dunning@outlook.com April 9, 2019, 2:31 pm BARGAN OR BRENAN, JAMES MARCH 16, 1807 Source: National Archives Kew England Written: March 16, 1807 Recorded: April 9, 2019 In the Name of God Amen I James Bargan alias James Brenan Seaman belonging to his Majestys Ship Terpsichore and number on her Books 682 being very sick and weak of Body but of perfect sound mind memory and understanding being mindful of the frailty and mortality of Human nature and knowing that it is appointed for all Men once to die do make and ordain this my last will and Testament that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my Soul into the hands of almighty God that gave it and my Body I recommend to the deep to be buried in decent Christian form nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God and as to touching such worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I give & dispose in the following manner vizt I give and bequeath to my dear and loving Mother Nancy Brenan residing in the parish of Crolyard in the Queens County Ireland the whole of all Salaries Wages Tickets bounty money Prize money and all and every Sum or Sums of money whatever that is now and which shall be due and owing unto me at the hour of my death for my Service on board any of his Majestys Ships or vessels or in any other Service whatever and in the event of the death of my beloved Parent on the arrival of this Instrument in England my Executor is hereby directed to make an equal division of the Property among my Brothers and Sister and I humbly request that Mr Daniel Bargan of the Parish of Dagnarn in the County aforesaid will be pleased to take upon him the duty of Executor herein I do therefore name constitute and appoint Mr Daniel Bargan of the Parish and County aforesaid sole Executor of this my last will and Testament and I further request that his Majestys Inspector of Seaman's Wills etc. will transmit a Copy of this my last will and Testament to Mr Daniel Bargan my Exor given under my hand and Seal on board his Majestys Ship Terpsichore at Sea this sixteenth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seven and in the forty sixth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third by the Grace of God of the united Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland King Defender of the faith etc. James Bargan Signed and Sealed in our presence at Sea where proper forms are not to be had Witness Fleetwood Pellew Captain _ T Greensitt Master Proved at London 26 April 1809 by the Oath of Daniel Bargan Brother of the Deceased PCC Prob11/1495
