Laois - Walsh, Edward August 31, 1811 *********************************************** Ireland Genealogy Projects Archives Laois (Queens) Index Copyright ************************************************ File contributed by: Rosalind Dunning ros.dunning@outlook.com May 14, 2018, 2:25 pm WALSH, EDWARD AUGUST 31, 1811 Source: National Archives Kew England Written: August 31, 1811 Recorded: May 14, 2018 In the Name of God Amen I Edward Walsh of Borris in Ossory in the Queen's County Esquire being of sound mind memory and understanding Do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in Writing hereby revoking all former Will or Wills by me at any time heretofore made I order and direct that all my Just Debts and funeral Expences shall be paid as soon as conveniently can be after my decease I give devise and bequeath unto my Son Edward Sparrow Walsh now aged about Six Years and now residing at Swansea with Sarah Roberts the sum of twelve hundred pounds Interest or share in the Consolidated and joint Government Stock in Ireland which Cost Nine hundred & Sixty one pounds fifteen shillings and which I have in the four per cented funds to be paid to him on his attaining his age of twenty one Years and in case of his death before he shall have attained his age of twenty one Years then my will is that the said sum of twelve hundred pounds shall go to my Nephew Edward Walsh son of my Brother Thomas Walsh and my Grand Nephew Arthur Walsh son of my Nephew John Ringwood Walsh between the both share and share alike and I do hereby transfer a Debenture for said sum to my Executors and authorize them to draw the Interest for the use of my said Son Edward Sparrow Walsh that is to say to allow the sum of twenty pounds a Year until he attains the age of Ten Years and after Wards the sum of thirty pounds a Year until he attains the age of twenty one years if he shall so long live and the remainder of said Interest money to be disposed of for his use and advantage I also give unto the said Edward Sparrow Walsh all my plate and in case of his death before he shall have attained his age of twenty one Years to go to Edward Walsh son of my said Brother Thomas I give devise and bequeath unto Letitia Walsh wife of John Ringwood Walsh all my right Title and Interest of on and to that part of the Lands of K......... whereof I am seized situate in the Barony of Upper Ossory and Queen's County aforesaid and after her death to go to her Son Arthur Walsh aforesaid I give devise and bequeath unto Edmond Walsh Son of my Brother William Walsh three hundred pounds I give devise and bequeath unto George Walsh Son of my said Brother William Walsh two hundred pounds I give devise and bequeath unto my Niece Dorothea Walsh daughter of my said Brother William Walsh two hundred pounds I give devise and bequeath unto my Niece Mary Anne Hewson otherwise Walsh the sum of one hundred pounds I give devise and bequeath unto Edward Walsh Son of my said Brother Thomas the sum of four hundred pounds together with the Watch I wear I give and bequeath unto my Sister Elizabeth Walsh Widow of my Brother William twelve pounds a Year during her life which I order my said Brother Thomas to pay to her I give and bequeath unto my Nieces Mary Woods otherwise Walsh Anne Hayes otherwise Walsh and Jane Walsh all daughters of my said Brother Thomas Ten Pounds each to buy Rings I give & bequeath unto Arthur Walsh Son of my Nephew John Ringwood Walsh one hundred pounds to be paid to him when he attains the age of twenty one Years I give devise and bequeath unto my Brother Thomas Walsh all my right Title and Interest of in and to my holding in the Town of Borris in Ossory during his life and after his Death to go to his Son Edward Walsh and his heirs during the remainder of my term and Interest unexpired therein I give and bequeath unto Thomas Gardiner of Borris in Ossory one of my Executors one hundred pounds I desire my said several legacies save and except those otherwise particularized to be paid within one year after my decease I give unto my said Brother Thomas Walsh all the rest residue and remainder of all such real and personal property of which I shall at my decease be possessed and not otherwise disposed of and I do hereby appoint my said Brother Thomas Walsh and Thomas Gardiner both of Borris in Ossory Gentlemen Executors of this my Will In Witness whereof I have hereunto put my hand and affixed my seal this thirty first day of August one thousand Eight hundred and Eleven Edward Walsh (Attestation Clause) Thos Baldwin of Borris in Ossory _ Wm Thacker of Borris in Ossory _ Willm Roe of same place Proved at London 12th June 1817 PCC Prob11/1593
