I Daniel Fitzgerald Gabbett now of Her Majesty's Twelfth 
Regiment of Royal Lancers Esquire being of sound mind and 
body but knowing the uncertainty of human life and having 
soon to embark with my Regiment for foreign service to the 
Cape of Good Hope do make and publish this my last Will and 
Testament Whereas I am seized and possessed of the lands of 
Millmount near Killmallock in the parish of Ballingaddy and 
County of Limerick as also the Impropriate(?) rent charge in 
lieu of tithe compensation issuing and payable out of the 
parish of Ballinarde in the said County of Limerick I do 
hereby devise and bequeath the same to my dearest Uncle and 
best friend The Reverend Joseph Gabbett his heirs and 
assigns for ever hoping that he will leave the same to some 
one bearing the name of Gabbett and I am desirous of keeping 
as much landed estates in that family And whereas I am 
possessed of and entitled to certain sums of money being 
accumulations arising out of my estates and property during 
my minority and invested by my said Uncle in government 
three and a quarter per cent stock for my benefit and which 
I consider after payment of all my just debts will amount to 
six thousand pounds as also arrears of rents I hereby give 
and bequeath to each of my dear Sisters Catherine and Alicia 
the sum of one thousand pounds respectively as a token of my 
affection to be paid to them to their sole and separate use 
free from the control debts or engagements of any husband 
they may respectively marry I give and bequeath to my Cousin 
Matthew Richard Gabbett the sum of one thousand pounds I 
give and bequeath to my dear Aunt Margaret Wife of the 
Reverend Joseph Gabbett the sum of one hundred pounds To my 
uncle William Gabbett I bequeath a like sum of one hundred 
pounds To my Cousin and God daughter Margaret Elizabeth 
Gabbett I leave and bequeath three hundred pounds which I 
wish her to expend in bijouterie on the occasion of her 
wedding And to George Anderson Surgeon of the twelfth Royal 
Lancers I give and bequeath the sum of one hundred pounds I 
give and bequeath to the Limerick Protestant Orphan Society 
the sum of five hundred pounds to be laid out and invested 
in Government or Parliamentary Security at interest in the 
names of the trustees of said Society and their successors 
and the annual interest thereon to be paid and applied for 
the benefit and support of the said Orphans I give and 
bequeath to the Priests Protection Society for Ireland the 
sum of three hundred pounds To the Dingle Missionary Society 
the sum of one hundred pounds To the Achill Missionary 
Society the sum of one hundred pounds And I declare that the 
receipt of the Secretary or Secretaries for the time being 
of the said several Societies shall be a sufficient 
discharge to my Executors for said several before mentioned 
legacies And as to all the rest residue and remainder of my 
real freehold and personal estates property and effects 
which I may die possessed of or entitled to or which I may 
have power to dispose of I leave and bequeath the same to my 
said dear uncle and best friend The Reverend Joseph Gabbett 
his heirs executors administrators and assigns according to 
the nature of my estate therein Subject nevertheless to the 
payment of all my just debts funeral and testamentary 
expenses And I appoint my said dearest uncle Joseph Gabbett 
sole Executor of this my Will In witness whereof I have 
hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal this tenth 
day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight
