Will: Delany Or Delaney, Thomas September 30, 1825 *********************************************** Ireland Genealogy Projects Archives Longford Index Copyright ************************************************ File contributed by: Rosalind Dunning ros.dunning@outlook.com May 13, 2018, 2:53 am DELANY OR DELANEY, THOMAS SEPTEMBER 30, 1825 Source: National Archives Kew England Written: September 30, 1825 Recorded: May 13, 2018 In the Name of God Amen I Thomas Delany Private Soldier in Captain Charles Lucas Bell's (or Number 7) Company His Majesty's Eighty seventh Regiment of foot being of bodily health and of sound and disposing memory and considering the dangers and other uncertainties of this transitory life do for avoiding Controversies after my decease make publish and declare this my last Will and testament in manner following (that is to say) first I commend my Soul to God who gave it and my body I commit to the Earth or Sea as it shall please God to order and for and concerning all my worldly estate I give bequeath and dispose thereof as followeth that is to say first I will that all my just debts and funeral expences be paid and discharged by my Executors hereafter named Secondly I give and bequeath to my dear father William Delany and my mother Elizabeth Delany at present residing in the parish of Ardah in the County of Longford the sum of six hundred....... Rupees of the currency of Bengal with all Interest due and that may become due thereon at and after my decease now invested in the Regimental Bank of His Majesty's Eighty seventh Regiment and in case of the death of both my said father and Mother I will and direct the aforesaid sum of Six hundred Rupees with interest as aforesaid may be divided equally between their lawful issue male and female share and share alike And I further Will and bequeath to my step daughter Mary Ann Hall at present living in the Parish of Gory in the County of Wexford Ireland the sum of ..... Rupees four hundred and fifty with all Interest as aforesaid and in case of her death the same four hundred and fifty rupees to be paid to my said father or Mother and after their death to be equally divided among their lawful issue as aforesaid All the rest residue and remainder of my Estate and Effects Pay and arrears of Pay prize Money Clothing Money etc. I guive and bequeath to my said father and mother or the survivor of them and it is my Will and desire that Lieutenant John Barber of Longford will receive and pay the legacies bequeathed by me and in all respects see this my Will fully and effectually accomplished And I do hereby nominate and appoint Sergeant Major Thomas foote & Colour Sergeant Patrick Bentley of His Majesty's Eighty seventh Regiment Executors of this my last Will and testament hereby revoking all former and other Wills testaments and Deeds of Gift by me at any time heretofore made and I do ordain and ratify these presents to stand and be for and as my only last Will and testament In Witness whereof I have to this my said Will set my hand and seal this thirtieth day of September in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and twenty five Thomas Delany X his mark signed and sealed by the said Thomas Delany in the presence of us Chas Lucas Bell Cap 87th Regt _ Thos Foote Sergt Major 87th Regt _ P Bentley Sergt 87th Regt _ W Slade Gully 7 March 1836 Administration with Will annexed of the Goods of Thomas Delany otherwise Delaney late of Rangoon in the East Indies a Private in His Majesty's Eighty seventh Regiment of foot deceased to Patrick Harrington Delany the Son and Administrator of the Goods of Elizabeth Delany Widow deceased PCC Prob11/1859
