Kilcruttin Cemetery
This Cemetery Was First Established In The Early 1700's
And Continued In Use Until The 1850'S
Many Were Buried Here In Unmarked Graves Including
More Then 1,000 Poor People Of Tullamore And District
Who Died Of Hunger And Fever During The
Great Famine Of 1845-1849
Among The Tombstones Are Two To Members Of The King's
German Legion Stationed In Tullamore In The Early 1800's

of London.
(Worn stone. We researched the clues as best we could. A
David Bruce died on 1 Jan 1843. He lived at Harbour St.,
Tullamore. A John Bruce, Gardener of Royal Hospital
Chelsea, Middlesex has a Will dated 27 Jan 1838. (Kew
Archives) In it he names three children. Two sons John &
David and a daughter. This is our best reading of this
stone and there may be errors.)
