MCDONOGH, BRYAN MARCH 29, 1817

In the Name of God Amen I Bryan McDonogh late from the 
Island of Malta but now in the Town of Boyle do make publish 
and declare this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking 
all former Wills by me made I leave and bequeath to my 
dearly beloved Teresa the Sum of fifty Pounds Sterling a 
year to be paid to her in whatever manner she choses for the 
term of her natural life I leave and bequeath to my Daughter 
Eliza McDonogh the Sum of One thousand five hundred Pounds 
Sterling to be paid to her on the day of her Marriage or on 
the obtaining the age of twenty one Years on this express 
condition that she marries with the consent of my Executors 
hereinafter mentioned and not otherwise and my Will and 
direction is that in case my said daughter shall marry or 
conduct herself contrary to the Will and consent of her 
Mother or my said Executors that then and in that case she 
shall be entitled to no more than the Sum of Thirty Pounds a 
Year during the term of her natural life to be paid half 
yearly and which Annuity I leave and bequeath to her in full 
discharge and satisfaction of the said Sum of One thousand 
five hundred Pounds in case of misconduct or misbehaviour 
and in case my said Daughter shall conduct herself to the 
satisfaction and approbation of my said Executors that then 
the said Sum of One thousand five hundred Pounds shall only 
bear an Interest of three Per Cent to be paid to my said 
Daughter from the day of my death for her support and 
maintenance until the entire of the said Sum is paid off on 
the day and in manner aforesaid I leave and bequeath to my 
Son Augustus McDonogh my Estate and Property on Dooberg in 
the County of Sligo with its Rights Manners and 
Appurtenances as lately purchased of Harry Edmond Taaffe 
Esquire In Trust for me  by my esteemed friend and Relation 
Andrew McDonogh Esquire of Boyle to hold to him and his 
Heirs male lawfully begotten of the said Augustus McDonogh 
lawfully begotten and in case of failure of Issue Male of 
the said Augustus then to the Issue female of the said 
Augustus lawfully begotten and in case of failure of Issue 
Male or female of the said Augustus remainder to his his 
Eliza and her Heirs male lawfully begotten and in case of 
failure of Issue Male or female of the said Eliza then to 
her Issue female and in case of failure of Male or female of 
my Son and Daughter then to my own right Heirs for ever on 
this express condition that neither my Son or Daughter or 
any other Person or Persons who shall become entitled or 
Possessed of my said Estate in the County of Sligo shall not 
sell or mortgage the same or any part thereof on any terms 
whatsoever under a forfeiture of said Estate which in such 
case I order and direct shall go to my next Heir and my will 
and directions are that my said Son Augustus shall not have 
power to settle a greater or other Jointure on any Wife he 
shall be married to on said Lands than ten Per Cent on any 
fortune he may Bonafide receive in Money as the marriage 
Portion of such wife and as for all the rest residue and 
remainder of any property either real or Personal of which I 
may be possessed or entitled to at the time of my death I 
leave and bequeath to my Son Augustus whom I appoint 
residuary Legatee to this my Will I leave and bequeath to my 
Niece Anne McDonogh one hundred Pounds sterling and to her 
Sister Mary McDonogh fifty Pounds sterling Lastly I have to 
request that my friend Andrew McDonogh will be sole Guardian 
to my family until his death but in case of any disagreement 
between him and any branch of them and that he wishes to 
live separately from them I do in that case leave and 
bequeath one hundred Pounds a year to him during his natural 
life I appoint Owen O'Connor of Ballingar Andrew McDonogh of 
Coyle and Daniel O'Connor of Roady (?) Esquire Executors of 
this my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I the 
said Bryan McDonogh have hereunto put my Name and affixed my 
Seal this twenty ninth day of March 1817

I have to request that Mr Andrew McDonogh will give the 
Parish Priest of Bunnanaden the Parish Priest of 
Kilmacanrony (?) To the Reverend McDermott and the Revd 
McConry each five Pounds to say Masses for the repose of my 
Soul B McDonogh
