Extracted from her Majesty's Court of Prerogative in Ireland
In the Name of God Amen I Owen Phibbs Captn 86th Regt and of 
the Town of Sligo being of sound mind but weak of body do 
make this my last Will and Testament revolking all former 
Wills and Codiciles made by me previous to these presents 
first I resign my Immortal Soul to Almighty God in the hope 
of everlasting life through the redemption of our Lord and 
Saviour Jesus Christ Secondly I resign my body to the Grave 
after my decease to be buried with as little expence as 
possible I will and bequeath to my Brother Peter Phibbs of 
Lakeland his heirs or Executors my Child's Portion left my 
agreeable to the Marriage Articles and Will of my late 
father Charles Phibbs of Sligo namely and amounting to £576 
18 5 ½ viz five hundred & seventy six pounds 18 5 ½ sterling 
And whereas I am further seized and possessed of the sum of 
twelve hundred pounds Ster in the 3 per cent consolidated 
funds for which my Agents Messrs Cox & Co Craigs Court 
London hold my power of Attorney to enable them to receive 
my dividends for my Executors or Trustees I now appoint 
Peter Phibbs of Lakeland my Executor and Trustee to receive 
the aforesaid sum of twelve hundred pounds or thereabouts 
from the said Messrs Cox & Co Craigs Court London and this 
is to authorise the said Peter Phibbs of Lakeland to 
received it and pay it to my legatees Viz And I now will and 
bequeath the aforesaid sum of twelve hundred pounds ster to 
the undermentioned persons in the following sums viz. To 
Peter Phibbs of Lakeland the sum of two hundred and fifty 
pounds sterling To Christopher Onnoby of Dublin the sum of 
two hundred pounds sterling To Matthew Phibbs of Sligo the 
sum of two hundred pounds sterling To my Sister Mary Phibbs 
of Sligo the sum of two hundred and fifty pounds sterling To 
James Walsh of Covingeous Balinamore Co Mayo the sum of 
forty pounds ster To Edward Walsh of Covingeous Balinamore 
Co Mayo the sum of ten pounds ster To the Miss Towers's 
namely of Sligo Ann Towers Elizabeth Towers and Sarah Tower 
the sum of two hundred and fifty pounds sterling And I 
further will to my Brother Peter Phibbs of Lakeland in the 
Co of Mayo the amount of my Regimental accounts of affects 
in my possession at the time of my decease which will be 
accounted for on application to the Secretary at war Dated 
at Cork Barracks the seventeenth day of January one thousand 
eight hundred and forty two and to which I now affix my hand 
and seal in the presence of Owen Phibbs _ Capt 86th Regt _ 
Joseph Jerome Qw Master 86 Regiment _ Charles Luxmore 
Bennett Lieutenant 86 Regt

Leakland near Castlebar
