In the Name of God Amen I Edmond Bourke of Glannacunna Lodge 
in the County of Tipperary Esquire being of sound and 
disposing mind and memory do make this my last Will and 
Testament in writing hereby revoking and annulling any Will 
or Wills by me heretofore made first I will and direct that 
my just and lawful debts and my funeral expences be paid 
Whereas by my marriage Settlement with my beloved Wife a 
Jointure of one hundred and twenty pounds a year was 
intended to be secured to her during her natural life in 
case she should survive me And Whereas a yearly sum of 
eighty nine pounds (part of said one hundred and twenty 
pounds) was charged on the lands of Nockares in the County 
of Tipperary And Whereas I did not deem it prudent to renew 
the lease of the said lands of Nockares and same will in the 
course of a few years be out of lease and I am desirous that 
the jointure fixed for my said Wife should be well and 
effectually secured to her And Whereas a sum of five hundred 
pounds was by my said Marriage Settlement vested in the 
hands of Trustees therein named for the purpose of securing 
the Jointure for my said Wife and for other purposes in said 
Marriage Settlement mentioned Now my will and desire is that 
my said Wife shall during the existence and continuance of 
the present lease of the said lands of Nockares receive out 
of the said lands the yearly sum of Eighty nine pounds 
together with the interest of said sum of five hundred 
pounds pursuant to my said Marriage Settlement provided she 
shall live so long and from and after expiration of said 
lease that my said Wife shall receive a yearly sum of eighty 
nine pounds out of the lands of Glannacunna in the County of 
Tipperary or out of any other property of which I may die 
possessed together with the interest of said five hundred 
pounds as aforesaid for and during her natural life I also 
leave and bequeath to my said Wife the following furniture 
to wit the bed bedstead and bedclothes of the room inside 
the Drawing room and any other bed bedstead and bedclothes 
she shall think proper My desk one half my bacon and one 
half my bacon tubs One Dozen Mahogany chairs one set of 
tables two thirds of my house linen one half of my kitchen 
furniture one half of my glass earthenware and china the 
entire of my plate (except twelve old tea spoons) in trust 
for my children hereinafter named. My child's bed bedstead 
and bedclothes my large carpet and her choice set of the 
fire Irons I leave and bequeath to my brother Michael Bourke 
all my farming utensils together with all and singular such 
furniture and plate as are not above bequeathed to my Wife I 
leave and bequeath to my brother in law Robert Corban my Bay 
Poney Mare And as to the Rest and Residue of my property of 
what kind or nature soever together with the said Jointure 
(after the death of my Wife) I leave and bequeath the same 
to my two sons Michael Burke and George Bourke and to any 
child my said Wife may now be pregnant of share and share 
alike and in case any of my said Children shall happen to 
die before he she or they shall attain the age of twenty one 
years or day of marriage I leave and bequeath all and 
singular my property so left between them to the survivors 
and survivor of them share and share alike and in case all 
my said children shall happen to die before they shall 
attain the age of twenty one years or day of marriage then 
and in such case I leave and bequeath all and singular my 
property as aforesaid to my said brother Michael Bourke to 
be disposed of by him in such manner as he shall think 
proper And I hereby appoint my Cousin Roger Sheehy Bourke of 
Spring Valle and my brother Michael Bourke my Executors In 
Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 
twenty fourth day of May in the year of our Lord one 
thousand eight hundred and twenty one Edmond Bourke

NB I wish to have this Codicil added to my Will which is 
that my Wife Margt Bourke should be joint with my Cousin 
Roger Sheehy Bourke & my brother Michael Bourke as Guardian 
& Executrix to my Children & my property & that she should 
join them of either of them in taking out the Administration 
to this my last Will Given under my hand & seal in presence 
of three Witnesses hereto Signed May 31st 1821 Edmond Bourke

Proved at London with a Codicil to Michael Bourke the 
surviving Executor named in the Will power reserved to 
Margaret Bourke the relict named in the Codicil
