Extracted from her Majesty's Court of Prerogative in Ireland
In the Name of God Amen I John Burchall of the City of 
Waterford Esqr being of sound and perfect mind memory and 
understanding Praised be God do make this my last Will and 
Testament in manner and form following Imprimis I bequeath 
my Soul to God who gave it to me hoping for Salvation 
through the Merits and Mediation of Jesus Christ his only 
Son my Saviour and Redeemer my body I commit to the Earth 
from whence it came and to be buried in the morning in the 
family vault at Saint Patrick's Church and to be carried 
there by six Invalides Penshiners or Men that has been 
Soldiers in the Army I shall leave a list of their names and 
they to get for so doing one guinea apiece I leave and 
bequeath to my dear and beloved Wife Henrietta Burchell 
alias Alcock the sum of one hundred pounds St to be paid her 
as soon as possible after my decease I leave and bequeath to 
my dear and beloved Wife my Dwellinghouse and furniture 
Plate Garden Coach home and Stable she paying the Rent 
thereof during her natural life and afterwards I leave and 
bequeath the same to my Daughter Elizabeth Burchall I leave 
and bequeath to my dear and beloved Wife the Sum of 
₤371-16-1 3 Per Cents that may be in the hands of Messrs Cox 
Male & Co little Britain London which stands in my name or 
the name of my Son the late John Henry Burchall I leave to 
Mrs Alcock Wife to my Brother in Law Henry Alcock Esquire of 
Wilton my silver Snuff Box left to me by the late Revd Mr 
Sanday with the medal of King William on the lid it once 
belonged to her family and make no doubt that she will leave 
directions that it may be handed down by her Son Harry 
Alcock to his family I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary 
Moore North fourteen pictures of her own drawing as I think 
to be has the best right to them I leave and bequeath to my 
Grandson John Burchall the sum of one thousand pounds on 
condition that he obeys all orders and directions given to 
him by my nephew Harry Alcock Esquire of Wilton if he does 
not obey all directions & advice that he gives him then in 
that case the thousand pounds to go to my two daurs Mary 
Moore North and Elizabeth to be divided equally between them 
and I also leave to my Grandson my silver Watch Chain Coat 
of Arms John Burchall and Seal I hope he will hand it down 
to his eldest Son if it pleases God that it shall ever have 
one and also Alderman Moore's picture and the picture of 
Bishop Taize's Mother I leave and bequeath to my dear and 
beloved Wife Henrietta Burchell alias Alcock all arrears of 
Rent and Interest money due at the time of my death I leave 
and bequeath to my Daughter Elizabeth Burchall the Sum of 
eight hundred Pounds I leave and bequeath unto my daughter 
Mary Moore North the sum of two hundred pounds to be 
disposed of as she thinks proper notwithstanding her 
marriage I leave and bequeath unto my daughter Mary Moore 
North's Children the sum of five hundred pounds to be 
divided equally among them and as it was the wish of my dear 
Son William Burchall that his Son John Burchall should be 
brought up as a Protestant it is also my wish therefore I 
hope my Grandson John Burchall will comply with both of our 
wishes my dear Wife has all my bonds and Securities for 
money except eight hundred pounds in City Seals that is in a 
small trunk in my Study with Miss Burchall's name and I 
leave and bequeath to the Poor of Saint Patrick's Parish the 
sum of five pounds also to the Cathedral the sum of five 
pounds I do hereby make ordain nominate constitute and 
appoint my nephew Harry Alcock Esquire of Wilton Executor of 
this my last Will and Testament and I do hereby revoke and 
make void all former Wills whatsoever by me heretofore made 
either by word or writing and this only to be taken for my 
last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto 
set my hand and Seal this 11th day of January 1816 John

Burchall's Property but his Wife is to get her two thousand 
pounds out of it Mr Richd Usher ₤1300-0-0 do. ₤1000-0-0 Do 
₤400-0-0 Sir John Kean ₤600-0-0 in the Stocks about 1000-0-0 
Corporation 1200-0-0 Edward Lee Esq 100-0-0 ₤5600-12-0 I owe 
Mrs Mary Doran one hundred pounds beg it may be paid to her 
as soon as possible Jany 11th 1816 John Burchall Codicil to 
the last Will and Testament of John Burchall Alderman of the 
City of Waterford I leave and bequeath to my Nephew Harry 
Alcock of the Wilton in the County of Wexford Esquire my 
Dwellinghouse and contents at Colebake Street near the Mall 
and my Household furniture in the City of Waterford In trust 
for my dearly beloved Wife Henrietta Burchell during so many 
years as she shall live and after her death I give and 
devise the same to my Daughter Elizabeth Burchall her 
Executors Admors and Assigns published and declared by the 
said John Burchall as a Codicil to his last Will and

Waterford September 17th 1817 (Further Codicil executed 2nd 
March 1819 revokes legacy to Grandson John Burchall of ₤1000 
giving it to Daughter Elizabeth Burchall instead Witnesses
