Waterford - Duff, Richard April 11, 1746 *********************************************** Ireland Genealogy Projects Archives Waterford Index Copyright ************************************************ File contributed by: Rosalind Dunning ros.dunning@outlook.com May 14, 2020, 7:31 am DUFF, RICHARD APRIL 11, 1746 Source: National Archives Kew Written: April 11, 1746 Recorded: May 14, 2020 In the Name of God Amen I Richard Duff of the City of Waterford Gentleman being in perfect health and in sound Mind and Memory thanks be to Almighty God for the same and now calling to mind the uncertainty of this Transitory life and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make this my last Will and Testament in manner following First I recommend my Soul to God who gave it and as to what Worldly Substance I have any Right title or Interest to in any part or parts of his Majesty King George the Seconds Dominions or Elsewhere at the Perfection hereof I leave and bequeath in manner following that is to say to my Well beloved Mother Mrs Elizabeth Hagherine of the said City of Waterford the Two Eighth Parts and the One Half Eighth of all the Worldly Substance both in Goods and Chattels Real and Personal of what nature or kind soever that I am now or hereafter may or Will be Intitled unto at the hour of my Death To my Well beloved Brother John Duff of said City of Waterford Gentleman three Eighths of my Worldly Substance as aforesaid to Mr Robert Madden of the City of London Gentleman one Eighth and one half of one Eighth of my Worldly Substance and to my Well beloved Sister Mrs Margaret Hagherin of the said City Spinster the other one Eighth of all my Worldly Substance as aforesaid and also I order and my Will is that before the above Legacys be paid and Given to the above Several Legatees in manner as aforesaid all my Lawfull debts be paid by my Executors herein after named and Lastly I do hereby Nominate and Appoint Richard Madden of the City of London Gentleman and James Cusick of the said City of London my only Sole and chief Executors of this my last Will and Testament hereby making Null and Void all other Will or Wills by me at any time heretofore made Ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my only last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto put my Hand and Affixed my Seal the Eleventh day of April One Thousand Seven Hundred and Forty Six Richard Duffe (Attestation Clause) Jos Kennedy _ Arthur O Neale _ Oliver Keating This is a Codicill to my Will out of the Three Eighths bequeathed to my Brother John Duff of the City of Waterford Gentleman I will that Twenty pounds be distributed to the Poor Widows of Waterford and also other Twenty Pounds to the Roman Catholick Clergy of the said City as also a Gold Watch Value Thirty Guineas to Mrs Mary Madan of the City of London Witness my Hand this Twenty Seventh day of May One Thousand Seven Hundred and Forty Seven Richard Duffe Witnesses Present Thomas Moore _ William Plunkett Proved at London 3 June 1747 by Oaths of Richard Madan (in Will wrote Madden) and James Cusack (in Will worte Cusick) PCC Prob11/755
