Waterford - Farrell, Paul February 2, 1773 *********************************************** Ireland Genealogy Projects Archives Waterford Index Copyright ************************************************ File contributed by: Rosalind Dunning ros.dunning@outlook.com July 8, 2017, 4:09 pm FARRELL, PAUL FEBRUARY 2, 1773 Source: National Archives Kew England Written: February 2, 1773 Recorded: July 8, 2017 This is my last Will and Testament I leave and bequeath unto my beloved Wife Bridget Farrell otherwise Walsh the Sum of one thousand Pounds Ster together with all my Plate Household furniture and Linnen I leave and bequeath unto my youngest Son James the Sum of two hundred Pounds Ster the remainder of my worldly substance to be divided into equal parts among my three Sons Richard Dominick and the aforesaid James my Will further is that the Shares and Dividends of my three aforesaid Children be put out to Interest or be otherwise employed in Trade for the use of my aforesaid Children as my Executors hereafter mentioned may judge to their Advantage without any risque to my Executors my Will further is that in case of the death of any of my aforesaid Children before he or they should attain to the age of twenty one years that the share or shares of him or them so dying should devolve to the surviving or the survivor of the three aforesaid Children but in case of the death of all my aforesaid Children before they attain to the age of twenty one years my Will is that their shares shall all devolve to my honoured father Mr Dominick Farrell moreover it is my Will that my aforesaid dearly beloved Wife shall have besides the Sum of one thousand Pounds Ster already mentioned the additional Sum of two hundred Pounds Ster in case she does not marry again in the term of seven years after my death and takes on her during this term of years the care of my aforesaid Children for whose maintenance she shall be allowed whatever my Executors hereafter mentioned shall think fit and Sufficient my Will is that my just Debts be all paid I appoint as Executors to this my last Will my abovenamed and very honoured father Mr Dominick Farrell and my worthy friend Mr John Hachbold Given under my Hand this seventh day of March one thousand seven hundred and seventy two Paul Farrell Present John Ronayne, John O'Neill Having made my last Will and Testament on the seventh day of March one thousand seven hundred and seventy two I now hereunto add this Codicil which I require may be deemed part thereof As my beloved Wife Bridget Farrell alias Walsh is now going with Child I leave and bequeath unto this Child of mine of which she may hereafter be delivered the Sum of two hundred Pounds Ster and an equal Share of my worldly Substance with my Sons Richard Dominick and James after first deducting from said Substance what is necessary for the payment of my lawfull Debts and for the payment of one thousand Pounds to my beloved Wife who is likewise to have all my Plate Household furniture and Linnen as also for the payment of two hundred Pounds Ster to my Son James but should this Child of mine die before he or she attains to the age of twenty one years or days of Marriage my Will is that his or her share of my Substance should devolve to my surviving Children or Child and in case of the death of all my aforesaid issue before attaining to the age of twenty one years or days of Martriage my Will is that their shares should all devolve to my honoured father Mr Dominick Farrell in like manner should it happen that my Wife be now carrying Twins I leave to each of them the Sum of two hundred Pounds Ster and a fifth and an equal Share of my worldly Substance after the aforesaid deductions are first made with the same order of survivorship and reversion in the case of death I hereby ratify all the Clauses of my forementioned Will as far as consistent with the present alterations In Witness whereof I have hereunto out my hand and Seal this second day of February one thousand seven hundred and seventy three (Appearances by Thomas Hearn of Waterford Gentleman, Dominick Farrell of Waterford Merchant Father of deceased and Paul Power of Waterford Gentleman in relation to the Goods of Paul Farrell of Waterford deceased Merchant as to circumstances of execution of the Codicil) Proved at London with a Codicil 1 January 1778 by oath of John Archbold (in Will written Hachbold) PCC Prob11/999
