Waterford - Fitzgerald, Edward July 27, 1737 *********************************************** Ireland Genealogy Projects Archives Waterford Index Copyright ************************************************ File contributed by: Rosalind Dunning ros.dunning@outlook.com March 31, 2018, 2:58 pm FITZGERALD, EDWARD JULY 27, 1737 Source: National Archives Kew England Written: July 27, 1737 Recorded: March 31, 2018 In the Name of God Amen I Edward Fitzgerald late of the City of Waterford and now belonging to his Majesty's Ship Greyhound being but of an indifferent State of health yet being of perfect sense and memory praised be God do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following first I bequeath my soul to Almighty God my Maker hoping that through the Meritorious death and passion of Jesus Christ my only Saviour and Redeemer to receive free pardon and forgiveness of my sons and as for my Body to be buried in Christian Burial at the discretion of my Executors hereafter nominated And as for my worldly substance I leave them as follows I leave and bequeath my well beloved friend Mrs Catherine Watkins Ten Pound Sterling out of my Wages becoming due out of said Ship Greyhound And the remaining part of my Wages I leave to my beloved friend and Relation Jane Darks Grandaughter of my Wife Mary who lives now at Smarts Castle with her father John Darks And the Rest of my Worldly Estate and Substance now in the charge and care of Mr Handcock Hadlock now of the City of Waterford my true and faithfull Attorney I leave and bequeath unto my Nephew Garrett Fitzgerald now Serjeant and Clerk in a Regiment of Dragoons commanded by the Right Honble the Lord Moulsworth now lying in the Kingdom of Ireland to be disposed of according to his Will And I do nominate constitute and appoint my Trusty and well beloved Mr Thomas Jemetson and Silvester Barnwell both at present belonging to said Ship Greyhound to be my true and real Executors of this my last Will and Testament I do hereby revoke all other Wills if any made and acknowledge this to be my real and last Will Given under my hand Seal at Mahouse in the Island of Majorca this 27th day of July One Thousand Seven Hundred Thirty and Seven Edward Fitz Gerald Signed Sealed and Delivered in the presence of Stepn Fox _ Pyler Vandyck Proved at London 22 November 1749 to Thomas Jameson otherwise Jametson the surviving Executor PCC Prob11/774
