The surviving sufferers made applications to the Commissioners appointed by Parliament for part of the fund appropriated for their relief, and their loss was substantiated by their own affidavit and that of the Parish Minister, and was certified by their Landlord and by a neighbouring Magistrate. Barrett, Anne, swore that her husband was shot through a mistake by a Hessian, while standing at his door. Bass Eliza, her husband, Joseph, murdered 4th June, two children left, Parish of Gorey. Bass Henry, murdered 4th June at Gorey. Basset Anne, of Enniscorthy, wounded at Enniscorthy, 28th May, and murdered at Vinegar Hill, 30th May. Basset, William. Bates Eliza, her husband killed the 4th June, Parish of Camolin. Bates, Peter, of Monart, Farmer, swore that his house, offices, and property, were consumed by the rebels, who murdered his two brothers, two brothers-in- law, and one uncle, the 28th May, all of Templeshambo. Baubier John of Finshoge, near Enniscorthy, killed 28th May, 3 small motherless children left. Buttle William, murdered 23rd June. Byron Edward, burnt at Scullabogue, left a widow and two children, of Horetown. Byron Mary, her God-Father, mother, uncle and husband, murdered at New Ross. Callister Margaret, pursued and wounded at Enniscorthy by rebels, 29th May, and killed unknowingly by the King’s Troops, 21st June. Campbell James, and son, murdered on Vinegar Hill, widow and four more children left. Cane Mary of Clone, her husband murdered. Canney, George, Weaver. Carden, Lieut., of the Scarawalsh yeoman infantry, killed the 28th May 1798, in defence of Enniscorthy. Carlisle, James, Labourer. All from Tintern and all died in the fire at Scullabogue.* Carroll William, murdered on Vinegar Hill, 31st May, a widow and 7 children left. Caslin? Colebyrne, Rebecca, of Ballinastraw, swore her husband, was murdered the 30th May, of Monomolin Parish. Comerford Elizabeth, of Kyle, her husband killed, 5 children left, of Kilmuckridge. Daly Sarah, wife of a yeoman, forced to Scullabogue and burned in the barn, of St. Mary’s. Her sons William and James, burned with their mother, the eldest 17, the other 14. Daly Thomas, of Enniscorthy, Miller and Yeoman, two sons burned at Scullabogue, one aged 12, the other aged 14. Dangrell John, 27th May, of Kiltrish. Daniel, William, Surveyor, murdered on the Bridge of Wexford, 20th June 1798, left a widow and seven children in the utmost distress. Foxton Alice, of Kyle, her husband murdered, 22nd June, near Gorey, three children left. Foxton Timothy, killed at Gorey, 2nd June of Kilcormuck. Frain Myles, murdered at Ballimurran, of St. John’s. Frain Saunders, forced by the rebels to Ross, and put in front of the battle, where he was killed, of St. John’s. Frances Eliza, of Ballyadams, husband killed, six children left. Howlan-Darcy, Edward, Esq., 27th May, of Clough. Howse, Rev. George, Rector of the Union of Inch, in the Diocese of Dublin and County of Wexford, was obliged to fly from his house to save his life, which the rebels plundered to the amount of £400. His wife, three sons and three daughters, fled without any clothes but what they had on their backs. Hubster Sarah, her husband murdered, 5 children left, Parish of Killnehew. Parslow Shepherd, escaped from the first persecution to Ross, returned to make up his harvest, when he was horridly murdered by some of the rebellious banditti that infested the country, of Adamstown. Tugman, Margaret, swore, her husband, William Tugman, a weaver of Enniscorthy, was killed by the rebels, and left 8 children. Tully, George, Clothier. Turner Rev.
