MEMORIALS FROM WITHIN THE CHURCH.

The Church
The present church at Kilquade was built in 1802 to replace the previous church
which was burnt down in 1798.   There was a Catholic community in this area for
many years prior to this. According to the parish website there are two chalices
still in use which bear the inscriptions "Anno Domini 1633" and "24th November
1759".

memory of | The Rev. CHARLES BARKER STENNETT, P.P. of | Kilquade and Kilmurray
and Prebend of Kilmactalway | who departed this life the 25th of December 1840 |
in the 57th year of his age and the 16th of his ministry | in the above
parishes. | "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course | I have kept
the faith" | 2 Tim. Chap. 4 Verse 7 | May he Rest in Peace.
