The 1911 census data was collected from areas defined as District Electoral Divisions (DED), and this set of data follows that pattern.
The census lists county, barony, region (West Kerry), DED, Poor Law Union, Parish, Townland or Street, along with information on each person. Form A recorded the data on each individual. The Explanation of Form A describes the categories and data on this return.
The census also included separate schedules on the number and type of outbuildings. The Explanation of House and Building Return describes the categories and data on this form, called Form B.1. The Explanation of Form B.2- describes the categories in the Return of Out-offices & Farm-steadings.
Read more info on DEDs and the other administrative divisions.
Since August, 2009, the full 1911 Census for Ireland is searchable online at The National Archives of Ireland. As of 2011, the 1901 census also is online there.
Also note that errors are possible in transcription of data submitted to the Kerry site, so reseachers may wish to order photocopies of the original forms or view them online at The National Archives of Ireland.
