Description Document which outlines that it is planned to apply to Parliament to incorporate a company to make the river Barrow navigable from the tide water to meet the Grand Canal below the bridge of Athy, county Kildare. Includes estimate by Charles Tarrant for the works. This amounts to £90,000. Document includes list of prominent citizens of the region and the amount of money they are pledging to aid completion of the works. Amounts to £47,200. Their target had been £60,000. Annotation on document by [Humbert Michell], Chief of Inspectors, states that 91 registered working boats ply on the river and pay tolls.

Annual rent of one peppercorn (if demanded) for the first two years and thereafter £1.5.5 sterling. A further term is that Meredith permits extension of a stable lane.

In will (22 January 1785), bequests include the following: (1) to his nephews, Hans Hamilton, Henry Hamilton and James Hamilton, son of testator's only brother, James Hamilton, Sheep hill, county Dublin, esquire, sum of £100 each (2) to his brother, James Hamilton, all his real estate, freeholds and personal property. Also appoints James Hamilton as his executor. Codicil also present which makes some changes to the original will. In codicil (21 December 1792) Hamilton's residence is given as Gunnocks, county Meath. Copy of certificate by W. Wiley, Registrar, states that probate was granted in the will on 31 January 1793.

Description Copy of conveyance made between Sir Charles Burton, Pollerton, county Carlow, surviving executor of the will of Henry Woddell, late of Carlow, county Carlow, merchant, deceased, of one part, and the Hibernian Marine Society in Dublin, for maintaining, educating and apprenticing the orphans and children of deceased seamen in the Royal Navy and merchant service forever, of the other part. Recites lease dated 31 July 1751 made between John Curtis, Royal Hospital, Dublin, gentleman, of one part, and Woddell, of the other part, in respect of part of the lands of called Boorlomland lying between the Green lane and the road leading from the Green Dragon towards Garryhundon in the town of Carlow. Contains 10 acres. Lease to run for three named lives with covenant for perpetual renewal at annual rent of £14 sterling. Also recites deed of release dated 6 July 1770 (described as document number P1/0202). Recites that in his will, Woddell bequeathed these premises to Sir Charles Burton and others in trust to pay the produce and issues thereof to the Hibernian Marine Society and the Hibernian Society in equal proportions. Also recites that it was ordered in a court case that Sir Charles should convey one moiety to each of the Hibernian Marine Society and the Hibernian Society. Sir Charles now conveys one moiety of the premises described above. It is noted that this deed was registered at the [Register Office, city of Dublin] on 27 July 1793 in book 467, page 20, number 300021.
