*James Conran had a shop in Hacketstown and leased property in Bridge Lane from Cheveral Bennett (1827), Thomas Bennett and William Bennett (1843) (Source : Conran Papers; Pat Purcell Papers, Michael Purcell; Mr. & Mrs. Jack Conran). James, Mary, and family emigrated to New York, USA. Their son Stephen married Mary Neary in New Orleans 1860; they had nine children, all born and died New Orleans, La. (Source: Mr. & Mrs. Jack Conran).

** Luke Conran, Catherine Whelan and family emigrated to USA. In 1858, their son Nicholas, then living in Middleburgh, Schoharie Co., NY, placed a query in the “Missing Friends” column of the Boston Pilot , seeking info about his father Luke, mother Mrs. Conran, sister Anne, brothers John and Thomas; stated family left Ireland in Sept. 1848; first location after arrival was St. Louis, Mo.
