Mrs M. Slater, Carlow.
With exceeding regret we chronicle the death of Mrs Maria
Slater, which very sad event indeed took place at her
residence, Hanover, Carlow, on Monday last after a very
short illness.
As wife of Mr Francis Slater she was well-known in the
commercial life of County Carlow and neighbouring counties,
and took a prominent part in the poultry business of her
husband, one of the most extensive of its kind in Ireland.
The late Mrs Slater was an ideal wife and mother, and her
loss is irreparable in more ways than one.
She could be regarded as a model for Irish wives and
mothers, and we offer our heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved
husband, parents, brothers, sisters, and the young family.
The internment took place in St. Mary's Cemetery on
Wednesday, and the funeral was one of the largest seen for
some time.
