Carlow
Parish
The
following extracts (continued from page 7, Vol. V, Part I of the JOURNAL
for 1901) are taken from an old copy of the Vestry books of this Parish,
formerly in the possession of Wm. Browne-Clayton, Esq., and now, I
believe, in the Town Hall, Carlow, with other books, & c., forming
what was known as the Jackson collection.
It will be seen that there are some
entries previous to 1675, viz.,
minutes of a Vestry held 13th October 1669; and also some
burials in the church during that year.
P.D.V.
On
the second page of Vol. I is given “a list of those who hath been buried
in the church in the year of our Lord God 1669”’: --
