HIS MAJESTY'S Castle of
Dublin.
Warrant:
Having the TRUST and
CONFIDENCE in the COURAGE and LOYALTY of Benjamin
-
Bunbury Esquire at
Carlow.
- Whereas His Majesty has
been Graciously Pleased by His Warrant under His
- Royal Sign Manual,
bearing Date at His Court at Saint Jame's, on the 20th
- Day of September 1796,
to give to Us full Power and Authority to Issue
- Commissions in His Name
to such PERSONS as We shall deem Expedient for His
- Majesty's Service, for
levying Armed Corps within His Kingdom, for the
PRESERVATION of the
PUBLIC PEACE,
and to
QUELL INSURRECTION and
RESIST INVASION:

NOW We deeming it
Expedient for the Purposes aforesaid for the Aforesaid
- Benjamin Bunbury
Esquire to raise an Armed Corps in the County of Carlow to
- be called the Carlow
Militia by Virture of the Said Authority, in His
- Majesty's Name,
- George King of Great
Britain and King of Ireland & so forth.
