LORD LIEUTENANT GENERAL

and General Governor of Ireland.

HIS MAJESTY'S Castle of Dublin.

Warrant:

Having the TRUST
and
CONFIDENCE in the COURAGE
and
 LOYALTY of Benjamin

Bunbury Esquire at Carlow.
Whereas His Majesty has been Graciously Pleased by His Warrant under His
Royal Sign Manual, bearing Date at His Court at Saint Jame's, on the 20th
Day of September 1796, to give to Us full Power and Authority to Issue
Commissions in His Name to such PERSONS as We shall deem Expedient for His
Majesty's Service, for levying Armed Corps within His Kingdom, for the

PRESERVATION of the PUBLIC PEACE,

and to

QUELL INSURRECTION and RESIST INVASION:

NOW We deeming it Expedient for the Purposes aforesaid for the Aforesaid
Benjamin Bunbury Esquire to raise an Armed Corps in the County of Carlow to
be called the Carlow Militia by Virture of the Said Authority, in His
Majesty's Name,
George King of Great Britain and King of Ireland & so forth.
