Notice issued by David Coffey and Company, solicitors,
Railway Offices, 53 Lower Dominick street, Dublin, to Sir
Charles William Cuffe Burton, in respect to railway line to
be built from Carlow, county Carlow, to Newtownbarry (now
known as Bunclody), county Wexford. Lands in which Sir
Charles has an interest are required for the railway line
and he is asked whether or not he assents to the lands being
used. Lands are described in a schedule as several plots at
Rathnapish, county Carlow. Names of lessees and occupiers
are also given.

Draft declaration of a trust made between Bridget Longfield
Burton, Rutland lodge, county Carlow, widow, of one part,
and Sir Charles William Cuffe Burton, Pollerton house,
county Carlow, of the other part. Recites that Edward Burton
obtained a demise upon trust for Sir Charles. Details of
this lease are unspecified. Also that Edward Burton has
since died but in his will bequeathed all his property to
his wife, Bridget Longfield Burton. Sir Charles has asked
Bridget Longfield Burton to declare the trusts of the
aforementioned demise and he will take responsibility for
the rent and covenants.

Fair copy of the will of Bridget Longfield Burton, Rutland
lodge, county Carlow, widow of Edward Burton, of same place,
deceased. Makes the following bequests: (1) to her
brother-in-law, Richard Burton, esquire, the premises known
as Rutland lodge, all household implements, farming horses
and farming implements and plate (2) after his death, same
to go to Major Aldolphus Burton, nephew of testator's
husband (3) to Richard Burton, sum of £100 (4) to Hardy
Eustace, Castlemore, county Carlow, esquire, nephew of
testator, £300 sterling and rent due on lands of Grangeford.
Hardy Eustace is son of testator's brother, James Hardy
Eustace, esquire, deceased (5) to Thomas Stoyle, Carlow,
county Carlow, the sum of £50 (6) to all household servants
sum of one year's wages over and above wages due to them at
time of testator's death (7) to Thomas Sunderland, land
steward, the sum of £10 (8) to William Byrne, also in her
service, the sum of £10 (9) residue of estate to Hardy
Eustace. Expresses a wish to be buried at Rutland as near as
possible to her late husband's grave.

town, and all houses and buildings thereon. Contains 6
perches plantation measure. Part of the premises formerly
called Webb's holding. Bounded on the west by Chapel lane
and on all other sides by Webb's holding. Lease to run for
999 years at annual rent of £0.2.0 sterling. Map present.
Drawn by [James Hade]. It is noted that this deed was
registered in the Registry Office, city of Dublin, on 11
August 1862 in book 28, number 159.

O'Connor Henchy, Stone Brook, county Kildare, esquire, of
the other part. Recites lease dated 18 June 1767 (described
as document number P1/0188) and several other indentures.
The interest of the parties named in the 1767 lease are now
vested in the parties to this indenture. In consideration of
sum of £923.1.6, Sir Charles conveys the fee simple in the
lands to O'Connor Henchy. In the original lease, the lands
of Ballymore Eustace were described as being in the barony
of Newcastle and Upper Cross, county Dublin, but are now in
the barony of South Naas, county Kildare.

Francis Finn, Philip Brenan and Michael Finn, defendants.
Premises in question are plots and tenements formerly held
by Joseph Revell, Carlow, cutler, in Mass lane and Jocelyn
Davison. Bounded on the west with Mass lane (now called
Chapel lane), on the south with Mr Browne's concerns
(formerly held by Denis Lawler and now part of the premises
of Carlow College), on the east with Mr Watson's former
holding (now also part of the College's grounds) and on the
north with Mr Nicholas Henegan's former holding, but now
bounded by School lane (otherwise William street).

solicitor, in the matter of Michael Finn, a lunatic. Recites
details of lease dated 26 June 1754 (described as document
number P1/0143). The interest in this lease is now vested in
Sir Charles William Cuffe Burton as lessor and William
Francis Finn, Michael Finn and Philip Brennan as lessees, in
different proportions. Those responsible for renewal of the
original lease defaulted on their responsibility for same.
Sir Charles now wishes to bring about an ejectment in this
matter and Butler asks for leave to effect same.

certain premises to Mitchell for annual rent of £6.15.0 late
Irish currency. Lease to run for lives with covenant for
perpetual renewal. Premises is described as that park or
part of the Burren (Burrin) land near the town of Carlow
containing 6 acres and 3 roods plantation measure. Fee farm
grant of this property now granted.

Laoghaire), county Dublin, spinster, Committee of the
fortune of Michael Finn, a lunatic, of one part, and Henry
Bruen, Oak park, county Carlow, esquire, Member of
Parliament, of the other part. Recites details of lease
dated 28 May 1768 (details are recited in description of
document number P1/0498). Recites that the interest in the
1768 lease is now vested in the parties named here. Also
recites details of indenture [fee farm grant] dated 23
February 1863 and made between Sir Charles William Cuffe
Burton and Kate Finn, in trust for Michael Finn. The
premises granted in the 1863 indenture form part of the
premises involved in the current indenture. Bruen has
applied for a renewal of the 1768 lease under the Renewable
Leasehold Conversion Act. This is granted and yearly sum of
£10.11.6 sterling is to be paid by Bruen as the fee farm
rent.

Burton. Recites details of her will in which she appointed
her nephew, Hardy Eustace, as residuary legatee. Also
recites details of notes written by Bridget Longfield Burton
during her final illness in which she made certain bequests,
including one to Richard Burton of some cattle. Counsel is
asked to advise if these notes may be relied on. Opinion of
Counsel (14 July 1864) is appended.

Fee farm grant made between Robert Clayton Browne, Browne's
hill, county Carlow, esquire, of one part, and the Governors
and Guardians of the hospital founded by Doctor Richard
Steevens (Steevens Hospital), of the other part. Recites
lease dated 19 December 1718 (described as document number
P1/0043). The interest of the parties in the 1718 lease is
now vested in the parties to the current indenture and
Browne grants lands to Steevens Hospital on the basis of a
fee farm grant. It is noted that this deed was registered at
the Registry Office, city of Dublin, on 27 September 1867 in
book 30, number 3.
