Letter from James Brennan, Bailiff, to C. H. Tuckey, Resident
Magistrate.
6th August 1850.
I am about to sell Cattle taken for Rent due at Carlow Pound
under the Warrant of Thomas Malcomson Esq. appointed by the Court of
Chancery ~ the sale is to take place this day and I believe that unless I
am protected by Constabulary my life will be in Danger, a dangerous Mob
being now collected there from the Queen's County, Kildare and Carlow.
(signed)
James Brennan.
