Mrs. James O'Malley
Mrs. James O'Malley passed peacefully to rest Saturday night at 10:40
after an illness of only a few days, although she had been a constant
sufferer with asthma for about 20 years.
Eliza Carr
was born in County
Carlow, Ireland, September 8, 1845, and came to America with her parents
when 6 years old. They settled in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. From
there, they moved to Henry, Illinois, where she was united in marriage
to James O'Malley on April 2, 1864. They lived in Henry one year, then
moved to Ottawa, Illinois, where they lived two years. In the spring of
1868 they moved to this city, since which time this has been her home.
Mrs. O'Malley was the mother of ten children, Grace dying in infancy,
Elizabeth J. dying December 1, 1899, at the age of 25 years, Anna C.,
October 4, 1900. The remaining children are: W. J. and J. B. of Pontiac,
Edward J., Mary, Matthew, Gertrude and Francis P. at home. Mrs. O'Malley
was a woman of kindly and generous heart and highly esteemed by those
who knew her. On account of her poor health it was very seldom she left
her home. Her death will be greatly mourned by the bereaved husband,
children and friends... The funeral was held from St. John's Catholic
church on Tuesday morning at 10:00, Rev. Fr. Sheedy officiating.

Late George Dalton
It is with regret that we record the death of George Dalton, St.
Mullins, Co. Carlow.
His remains were removed from Cooney's Funeral Home, New Ross on Monday
14th June to St. Mary's and St. Michael's Church, New Ross. Noon Mass on
Tuesday was celebrated by Fr. Joe McGrath P.P., New Ross, Fr. Jackie
Power, Saint Augustines, New Ross, Fr. Aughney, St. Mullins and Fr.
Bernard Cushion. Burial was interred in St. Mullins Cemetery. He is
survived by his wife Betty, formally Walsh of Cappagh, his daughters Marie
Treacy, Cappagh and Erica Dalton, Ballynerneen, Glenmore
